You only exist in my imagination, therefore, this website is all about ME now in case I cease to imagine you.
So… gurlgamer.com has become a blog. I don’t think I ever intended on making the gaming world a better place with this website. I just wanted to post content, have my selfish say and have the freedom to change it as I saw fit. This way I can.
Gurlgamer.com started in 2000 after I found I took a liking to online video games. Although the content hasn’t changed much in recent years, this site has always been my little space-holder. I’ve always wanted to do something with it for myself, but I never seem to make the time. With the complete lack of will for trying to please the public with the first run of GG, the spammers, the hackers… I completely lost the will to do anything with it. Side note: If you know someone that owns a website, sympathize when they have troubles. It’s not easy running a site and you have to have the patience of a saint to keep it up.
I had help for a short while, but even that was just frustrating. In retrospect I should have trusted the admins more and backed off and let the place run itself, OR in retrospect I should have made it a blog to begin with. Thank goodness for the evolution of blogging software and easy tutorials for the nubs. Although I am not a nub, I’m LAZY after hours. I work all day, have looked after a kid day in and out for the last 18 yrs as a single Mom, and when I’m home I want everything on a platter. Gaming and web designing included. The last thing I want to do is come home and read through web code…. it’s the reason I got into “PRINT” design.
So here it is. This is my blog, and it won’t always be about games… but yes I play them, and yes I am a gurlgamer.
